Repairs
All of our project schools were built in the 60's or before, and like most 50 year olds are in need of a little repair work, some a lot of repair work. The only real maintenance that is carried out is by the teachers and some dedicated parents. Again, like fifty year olds, a coat of paint makes them look great, unfortunately it's what's under the coat that really matters.
Hence, many school buildings need work done on roofs, gutter replacement or fitting, electrical repairs, toilet block refurbishment or building, septic renewals, glazing, concreting and sometimes complete rebuilding. Luckily we do have a professional team of DPWH approved builders who carry out all our work, so if you are interested to assist in any repair projects, please contact with details.
Schoolhouse
Build a brand new schoolhouse capable of housing more than 50 students in comfort and safety. The building will be constructed on a cement slab, with block walls and steel frame, windows and roof. There is a single toilet and washroom attached complete with it's own septic tank. The total cost to construct one of these much needed schoolhouses is only AUS$20,000. A great bonding exercise for a school, service club, sports team in training, a group of volunteers or part of your next conference. These facilities are not only used to house an ever growing school population, but become safe houses for the entire community during typhoon season. Complete plans are available for perusal upon request.
Transportable facilities
With some areas extremely vulnerable to either bad weather, site conditions or simply in desperate need of teaching facilities fast, transportable prefabricated buildings or insulated containers are considered a quick and durable alternative to a new build. For instance, our small school in New Bern is not only extremely vulnerable to the weather, but the area for additional school facilities is extremely limited. Hence, a 20 foot insulated container with anchors is considered the best and safest alternative. This option is also sturdy enough to be used as a safe haven for the community of this coastal village.
Options for twenty foot insulated containers up to two story prefabricated projects delivered and erected on site, start from as little as AUS$9,000.
Water Tanks

The Philippines rely very heavily on the underground water table for all their water requirements. So much in-fact, that some of the narrow, heavily over-populated islands in the Visayas Group are starting to find dry areas within the aquifer. In fact, the recent super typhoon on the island of Leyte, which is in the Visayas, was a prime example of this problem with many survivors still asking for water days after the terrible incident.
Australian style water tanks are the obvious and best solution to this problem and need to start being erected at schools as soon as possible.
Because of their previous disbelief in the efficiency of large water tanks, along with some misinformed individuals creating fears of acid rain, it has been an uphill battle to convince many to accept this solution. Fortunately we have a strong ally in President Ninoy Aquino, who is a strong believer in the benefits of water tanks.
So, in future, the school children of the Philippines will be able to educate their families about the quality and benefits of using fresh rainwater from a tank.
Many buildings are without guttering so this represents an additional cost, but one surely worth it, so the students of tomorrow can drink fresh potable water without having to go on a mini trek for such a treat.
Tank sizes vary greatly, as do costs, but if you require more information, please contact us.
