Building program:
Looking for an alternative for your next team BONDING session.
Why not participate in the building of schoolhouse in the Philippines?
Bonding is about teamwork and motivation, so what greater motivation could you instil in your executives and employees than to create a new schoolhouse for our poor and needy neighbours.
This is also a great opportunity to learn compassion, meet a bunch of great people and become part of a community that is far different from your own.
The new schoolhouse will be typhoon proof, of brick and steel construction on a concrete slab, suitable for 50 students, complete with adjoining toilet and septic tank.
Your participation is entirely up to you, as long as you make time to cement your company plaque into place for commemoration.
This entire building costs only AUS$20,000 from start to completion, plaque included.
Surely this is a better investment in employee bonding than all the distractions of a five star gin palace.
Depending on your level of commitment to the build, there are also many other amenities available to make your next bonding session or conference a complete (but different) success.
Building futures together:
Our Commitment:
Creating a sustainable pathway to education for the impoverished children of the rural Philippines. Our commitment is to provide these communities with safe and adequate school buildings, provide school supplies and resource materials so every child in the community has the opportunity to attend school.
Our major project:
The Philippines, the forgotten neighbour, with more than 40 million people living in abject poverty throughout the rural areas, where children have a huge thirst for education. Our aim is to give those children the opportunity to join a safe and happy school environment.
Now - nearly 15 years:
This project was conceived following visits to rural schools in the Philippines in 2000. Subsequent deliveries of school supplies and clothing followed, now the project has developed since those fledgling days.
Our school adoption program is recruiting Australian schools to recycle school supplies, clothing and toys for their Philippine schoolmates. Our existing projects include schools throughout the Philippines in the provinces of La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Ilocos Sur and Mountain Province. Our latest project is the Paringao Parish Orphanage in Bauang.
Corporate Schoolmates:
By becoming corporate schoolmates at your office, factory, mine, warehouse or building site, you and your workmates are directly helping the underprivileged children of the Philippines go to school. With more than 40% of the population living on well below the poverty line, a simple pen and notebook is the first requirement to attend public school, you can help.
Create your own project within your workplace to, either donate directly to the maliyaa foundation, or to purchase school supplies, clothing, sporting goods, shoes or teaching aids for your adopted school.
Another option is for corporate schoolmates to donate toward a building project, whether it be a schoolhouse, a portable building, a toilet block or a water tank, you can have an in-house donations graph to achieve your final project expense.
Elect a 'prefect' to organise your fundraisers and liase with the maliyaa foundation, it's very easy to participate, be compassionate in the workplace, and see where your donations are exactly going.
Fundraising:
We have a number of schools and individuals who graciously donate supplies and freight costs to our projects, we now seek corporate support to increase our building projects and increase our commitment to these most needy communities.
Sponsorship:
The maliyaa foundation is in need of urgent funds to simply exist, to continue this invaluable project to educate the children of our poorest neighbours, the Philippines.
The foundation is seeking companies, registered clubs, service clubs and individuals to sponsor this most compassionate and worthwhile cause.
You, your company or club, are invited to become as involved in the project as you wish, to participate in organised fundraisers or organise your own. Send volunteers to watch your dollars build a schoolhouse, build a toilet block or provide fresh water for the school and the surrounding village.
All sponsors will be listed and endorsed on the maliyaa foundation website for their compassion and generosity toward this most humanitarian project.
Donation is now easy, simply use the donation button for PayPal, the most secure donation method available, you don't have to be a member of PayPal to now donate.
